What's in a meal?
All meals provide one third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA), meet the USDA's Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and adhere to federal meal pattern requirements. Menus are planned and prepared under the supervision of a registered dietitian. Meals On Wheels of Sheboygan County is proud to offer
'made from scratch' meals using the freshest ingredients possible.
Each meal contains the following:
1 3-4 oz. serving of protein (meat or fish)
1-2 servings of grain (pasta, potato, rice, bread)
1 serving of vegetables
1 serving of fruit
1 serving of milk
1 serving of dessert
About the meal:
Meals On Wheels provides nutritionally balanced, home delivered meals to homebound elderly and disabled citizens of Sheboygan County.
Meals are delivered Monday through Friday over the noon hour. Weekend and evening meals are also available.
The meals are delivered by a well trained volunteer who will also provide a daily safety check and social interaction.
